First Communion:

The sacramental preparation and reception of First Communion occurs during the student’s second grade year.   Along with class room instruction of the Eucharist, a series of Parent Meetings are conducted to keep parents informed of the First Communion schedule and to instruct parents on the importance and significance of the Eucharist in their family lives.

First Communion preparation usually occurs during the Spring of the year in the form of a concentrated six week classroom program. 

Information is supplied to parents so they can help prepare their child at home.  This ‘for home use’ material serves two purposes:  to reinforce what the child is learning in class and to reinforce the significance of the Eucharist in the minds of the parents – thus, the family learns together.


Eucharistic Ministry to the Homebound:

Trained ministers are available to visit and bring the Eucharist to those in the hospital, nursing homes and private homes.
